Sunil has a BSC (Sp.) degree in Public Administration from the University of Sri Jayawardenapura and followed the Post Graduate Diploma in adult education from the Open University Nawala. Sunil Dombepola has vast years of experience as the Deputy Team Leader and Director in PALM from the 1994 up to date. In the year 2005, after the tsunami disaster, PALM Foundation expanded their development program to the eastern province. At the initial stage that Sunil was appointed by the PALM board to start this challengeable journey in the Eastern Province. After his arrival to he was able to build an energetic team in the district of Ampara. At the end of 2007 he was able to expand the PALM development interventions to the Batticaloa and Trincomalee district as well. In 2009 PALM board has decided to form PALM Community Development Services Guarantee Limited as an independent organization from PALM Foundation Nuwara Eliya and appointed Sunil as an Executive Director of the company.
