I started my new journey after a soul-searching time. It was around early nineteen eighty, when I arrived on a tea plantation in the hills of Sri Lanka. Leaving myself behind, I found others: poorer, more miserable, and rejected by society, unwanted. This new journey was going to be all about them!
For 20 years I was totally absorbed in the lives of the poor and neglected communities, first in many tea estates and later on in the poor rural villages on the slopes of the hills. Together with a wonderful team we have achieved amazing results. Through improved infrastructure programs and small local committees we taught the communities to become self reliant, innovative and independent.
What a pride developed among those poor tea plantation workers and the marginalized village women, who never thought they could achieve anything !
Times have changed since then but not our energy, our vision for a better world to live in. More than knowledge it is to understand the need for a change for the poor people with a compassionate heart.
Believe in that change and pass it on to your surrounding people! After all gained achievements depend mainly on a positive attitude and the fruit of it depends on our faith in God.
